Joe Contaldi Joe Contaldi grew up in a rough Italian neighborhood in Bayonne, NJ. Some of the guys he grew up with, who are still alive, were involved in organized crime. As a young man, Joe experienced many hurts and disappointments in life that hardened his heart, and caused him to become insensitive, skeptical and a very rebellious individual. Little by little his personality began to change, and his heart began to harden. He hurt a lot of people and began to get into a lot trouble in school and also with the law. Joe got involved with gangs and selling drugs and was arrested several times for street fighting and once for possession and sale of narcotics. Joe did things that caused a lot of pain to many people, and even to those who were close to him. He took advantage of many people, he became a manipulator, it became very easy for him to get what he wanted. But nothing seemed to satisfy him. That’s when he began to use drugs. Nothing seemed to satisfy him or fill that void in his life. He also developed a love for money and, money became his god. He eventually became a successful businessman but there was still a void in his life, but all that came to an end. On May 29th, 1987 at 10:20pm in a tent meeting run by Rossi Grie the football star, in Watts California. Joe had a life changing experience, received a miraculous physical healing and conversion, and was instantly delivered from over 30 years of drug abuse and excepted Jesus Christ. In 1991 the Lord blessed Joe with a Ministry, a Christian Talk Show on cable TV in the Los Angeles area, where he met pastor Augie Barajas, one of the pastors of Victory Outreach International, who was a guest on the show.
