Judge Not by Pastor Tyler Bramlett ROMANS 14:10 But why dost thou judge thy brother? Or why dost thou set at naught thy brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. I'm sure that from time to time, we have all been guilty of judging others. Maybe we look at the way someone dresses, the way that they talk, the way that they act, or the color of their skin. Maybe we think that since they are a member of another denomination, that they are wrong or mislead. You see, our differences make us each special and unique. If we judge someone because they are different, we miss an opportunity to let our differences compliment each other. An example; roses, carnations, tulips, and violets are all different, yet they are all flowers. Rose bushes, fields of violets, and bouquets of carnations are all beautiful in their own way. But when they are put together, they make a wonderful flower arrangement. The differences in color, texture, smell, and appearance of the flowers compliment each other. A carnation is pretty, even if it doesn't look or smell like a rose. And a rose bush is attractive, even if it is covered with thorns. Another thing that many Christians are guilty of is judging other Christians' walk with God. Just because someone doesn't praise God the same way that you do, Just because they don't believe everything that you believe, and just because they act a little different than you do doesn't make them wrong. It makes them different. And different doesn't mean wrong. The Bible says that we are to work out our own salvation with trembling and fear. If you read a verse in the Bible, and you get a different interpretation of that verse than someone else, that doesn't always mean that someone is wrong. You see, two people can have two interpretations of the same verse. The Bible is a living book, and God will show you what you need to know when you need to know it. That doesn't make you wrong, that makes you human. Each of us have our own needs, our own problems, and our own circumstances to deal with. God works with us on an individual basis, and reveals Himself to us in different ways and at different times. One person may say that a glass is half full, while another says that it is half empty. That doesn't make either of them wrong, it just makes their interpretations different. The glass still has the same amount of water in it, and both people can be satisfied with their point of view. Many different denominations have been formed due to different interpretations of the Bible. That doesn't mean that people of different denominations can't still get along and serve God together. All it means is that we have different interpretations of what the Bible says. As long as we can agree on Jesus, the rest shouldn't be argued. We shouldn't judge people of other denominations. We are one body, with one savior. If we spend more time focusing on ourselves instead of others, I am sure that we will all be busy correcting our own faults, and wouldn't have time to judge others. GALATIANS 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me. If we are crucified with Christ, we should live the life Christ lived. Do not compare your life with the people at your church or with the people in your family. Compare your life with the life that Christ lived and let those of you that have not sinned cast the first stone. Do not look for others to live exactly the same way that you do. Do not look for others to have the same walk with God that you do. Do not even look for others to believe every little thing that you believe. Simply look for Jesus in others and let others see Jesus in you. Live the life that you believe Jesus would have you to live and let others do the same. Only God is always right. PHILIPPIANS 3:9 And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith. I hope that none of you think that you can work or be good enough to get into heaven. Salvation is a free gift. You cannot work for it, and you cannot be good enough to obtain it. You receive salvation through Jesus. We are saved by grace through faith, and not of works. Our righteousness is nothing in the eyes of the Father. The Bible says that our righteousness is but filthy rags before the LORD. It is the righteousness of Christ that matters, and if you have received Him as your Savior, you will stand before the Father clothed in the righteousness of Christ. II CORINTHIANS 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done is his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
